NOVEMBER 30, 2012: MISS TEEN PENNSYLVANIA PAGEANT COMES TO PITTSBURGH
Landmark is pleased to have handled the security for the Pennsylvania preliminaries for the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants in Pittsburgh. Congratulations to the new Miss Teen Pennsylvania and Miss Pennsylvania, each of whom will represent Pennsylvania on the national stage. Good luck!
February 25, 2012: LANDMARK MAKES ANOTHER SPLASH WITH THE PAC-12 — NCAA SOON TO COME!
Continuing its service to the Pac-12 Conference, which began as the security consultant to the inaugural Pac-12 Football Championships, Landmark provided the crowd management and security services for the Pac-12 Women’s Swimming Championships and the Pac-12 Men’s and Women’s Diving Championships February 23-25 at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way, WA. Thanks to Chris Dawson and Theo Robertson of the Pac-12 Conference for relying on Landmark for their championship needs. Landmark will be continuing its aquatic services at the same venue for the NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships to be held March 22-24, 2012.
The University of Pittsburgh was the host for the 2012 Big East Swimming and Diving competitions at the Trees Pool Complex, February 10-18. This was the 16th time the Trees Pool has hosted this event. Landmark, led by Pittsburgh branch manager Paul Meyer, provided security and guest services personnel for the entire competition, at which numerous records were set. Pitt’s men’s team placed third and the women’s team fourth in the competition. Notre Dame won the men’s competition and Louisville triumphed in the women’s category. Congratulations to all concerned for a successful event!
Landmark once again provided world-class security services to the NFL for Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis, Indiana. Led by Operations Vice Presidents Mark Kranske and Grant Haskell, Landmark successfully expanded its Super Bowl services in 2012, adding the VIP venue the NFL House to its roster of responsibilities. Thanks go out to Chief Security Officer Jeff Miller, Dan Grossi, Ben Nix and Gerri D’Angelo of the NFL; Mark Briggs of the New England Patriots; and Mike Murphy and Jeff Conroy of the New York Giants for their support of and reliance on Landmark for their security needs. January 31, 2012: LANDMARK POSTS ANOTHER PRO BOWL SUCCESS!
Landmark’s team of transportation and parking experts, led by Chris Hagerty and Mark Rausch, returned to Honolulu for another successful Pro Bowl operation. Responsible for the planning, logistics and execution of transportation and parking for the players, media, sponsors and NFL executives before, during and after the Pro Bowl game, as well as Aloha Stadium parking during the game itself, Landmark once again proved its ability to handle even the most complicated logistics. Thanks go out to Frank Supovitz, Maria Franklin and Rohit Punj of the NFL for their guidance and support.
The Pac-12 Conference has named Landmark Event Staffing Services as the official security and transportation consultants for the inaugural Pac-12 Championship football game, to be held at Autzen Stadium on the University of Oregon campus. Landmark will oversee security operations, led by Pete Kranske. The transportation and parking operations will also be overseen by Landmark, led by Chris Hagerty. Thanks to Pac-12 Championships consultant Jim Steeg and Commissioner Larry Scott for relying on Landmark for their inaugural event.
November 12, 2011: Landmark Awarded Albuquerque Convention Center Contract
Landmark Event Staffing Services has been awarded the event security contract for the Albuquerque Convention Center, as announced by SMG, the venue’s management firm. The award of services to a single company is a first for the ACC. Landmark will report to the ACC’s General Manager, Lewis Dawley, Director of Operations Jose Garcia and Director of Sales and Event Services Kelly Carr. Landmark’s team is led by New Mexico regional manager Mike Bruton and an exceptional crew of supervisors.
September 30, 2011: Landmark Caps Off a Great Summer Concert Season
Landmark is winding down another big summer concert season for 2011 with great success. Across the country Landmark provided services to major concerts and music festivals, including just about every major act that toured this year. Some of the shows included such major tours as U2, Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. Touring festivals such as Warped Tour, Mayhem, Identity Fest, Uproar and the Further Tour were served at multiple venues by Landmark. We also served large one-site music festivals such as the Outside Lands Festival, the All-Good Festival, the Snowy Range Music Festival, Oakland Jazz Festival, Bumbershoot at EMP and Thunder in the Rockies. September 8, 2011: Landmark Enjoys Another Successful NFL Kickoff in Green Bay
The annual NFL Kickoff Festivities were held this year at and around Lambeau Field, the home of the Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers. For the third straight year Landmark Event Staffing Services was tapped by the NFL to lead the event security for the Kickoff events. Landmark was overseen by NFL Chief Security Officer Jeff Miller and NFL Security’s Dan Grossi. September 5, 2011: Bumbershoot Music Festival at EMP a Great Success
Landmark Event Staffing Services was selected by the Experience Music Project in Seattle to provide event staffing services during the annual Bumbershoot Music Festival. As a result of the exceptional services provided to the successful event, Landmark is excited to announce it has been retained for future events at the EMP, one of the nation’s premier music history museums and performing venues.
September 5, 2011: Snowy Range Music Festival a Second Year Success
Landmark Event Staffing Services once again provided exceptional event staff and security services to the 2nd Annual Snowy Range Music Festival, a multi-day, multi-genre music event in Laramie, Wyoming. Landmark was led by our Wyoming Branch Manager Glen Freeman and his strong team of supervisors. Thanks to Festival Director Carl Gustafson for once again relying on Landmark for his shows.
September 1, 2011: Beth Kranske named Vice President of Administration
Landmark is pleased to announce Beth Kranske has accepted the position of Vice President of Administration. Beth will have oversight of all national and branch administrative activities. A graduate of Drake University, where she majored in business management and marketing, Beth also lettered four years on the Drake volleyball team. She joined Landmark in July, 2007 as the assistant manager of our Colorado branch and soon thereafter began working with company billing and payroll operations nationwide. Beth is based out of Landmark’s home office in Ft. Collins, Colorado.
August 28, 2011: Landmark Enjoys Another Successful Boeing Classic PGA Champions Tour Event
The popular Boeing Classic PGA Champions Tour Event was played this year at the TPC Snoqualmie Ridge near Seattle. Once again Landmark Event Staffing Services was the event staff and security provider for the event, which proved to be a great success for all concerned – particularly champion Mark Calcavecchia, who won in an exciting playoff finish. Thanks to all concerned with the Boeing Classic, especially Director of Operations Joe Sirlin, for relying on Landmark for their event staffing needs.
August 14, 2011: Outside Lands Music Festival
Landmark Event Staffing Services is proud to have been a big part of the event staffing at the 2011 Outside Lands Music Festival, the three day music, food, wine and art festival in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park which draws over 60,000 people per day. August 10, 2011: Seafair Again a Great Success – Landmark Receives a Contract Extension
The 2011 Seafair festivities, a staple of Seattle life for over half a century, was a great success for all concerned. Once again the event staffing and security for the week-long event, which draws up to 100,000 people per day, was provided by Landmark Event Staffing Services. Landmark’s operations were led by VP Operations Grant Haskell, with oversight from Seafair’s President, Beth Knox, and its VP Eric Corning. Additionally, Landmark is excited to announce that our contract has been extended for three more years-we are proud to be a part of the Seafair family.

May 15, 2011: Landmark renews UC Berkeley Contract!
Landmark Event Staffing Services is excited to announce that its Agreement with UC Berkeley to provide crowd management and security services for Cal Athletics has been extended. Landmark has provided exceptional services to Cal Athletics, along with many other campus departments, since 2006. May 11, 2011: Landmark Congratulates Stage AE on a successful outdoor opening!
Stage AE, the new state of the art indoor/outdoor amphitheatre on Pittsburgh’s North Shore, opened its first outdoor season with a successful sold-out show by Social Distortion. The show, which was originally scheduled for the indoor stage but moved outside due to demand, was recorded for future airing on television. Landmark is proud to be a part of the Stage AE success and looks forward to the many shows scheduled in the future.






May 1, 2011: Nick Bermensolo added to Pittsburgh operations team
Landmark Event Staffing Services is pleased to announce Nick Bermensolo has been named Operations Manager for Landmark’s Pittsburgh, PA branch. After he received his Masters in Sports Administration from Belmont University (where he served as the media liaison for the 2008 Presidential Debate), Nick was a Facility Operations Technician with Populous (formerly HOK Sport). During his time there Nick was responsible for benchmarking building operations and guest services for 15 professional arenas, 16 professional stadiums and 6 Division I University facilities, as well as such events as the 2010 MLS All-Star game, the Breeders Cup at Santa Anita and Super Bowl XVI in Dallas, Texas. Nick will be serving Landmark clients including Heinz Field, the Pittsburgh Steelers, University of Pittsburgh, First Niagara Pavilion, Duquesne University and Stage AE.
April 25, 2011: Jaime Santoyo added to Northern California operations

Landmark Event Staffing Services is pleased to announce Jaime Santoyo has been named Operations Manager for Landmark’s Pittsburgh, PA branch. A graduate of the sports management program at St. Mary’s College of California, Jaime spent three years working in the facilities services and intercollegiate operations departments at St. Mary’s before taking a position with UC Berkeley. At Cal, Jaime worked on game day operations for Cal football, women’s basketball and men’s and women’s soccer, with oversight of contractors and student staff. Jaime will be serving Landmark clients including the Oakland Raiders, UC Berkeley, AT&T Park, San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Stanford University and Ironstone Amphitheatre.
April 20, 2011: Mark Kranske named VP Operations
Mark Kranske, Landmark’s Pittsburgh Branch Manager, has been promoted to Vice President-Operations, where he will share oversight of Landmark’s branch operations with current Vice President-Operations Grant Haskell. Mark will retain oversight of the Pittsburgh office and share responsibility for branch operations throughout the country, as well as Landmark’s special events work for clients and events including the Super Bowl, Pro Bowl, NFL Kickoff Event, NHL Special Events and the NCAA Final Four.
April 20, 2011: Paul Meyer named Pittsburgh Branch Manager
Paul Meyer has been named Branch Manager of Landmark Event Staffing Services’ Pittsburgh, PA office. Moving from the Director of Operations position in the same branch, Paul will oversee the branch operations and field operations for such clients as Heinz Field, the Pittsburgh Steelers, University of Pittsburgh, First Niagara Pavilion, Duquesne University and Stage AE.
April 5, 2011: Landmark Scores NCAA Final Four Success
Landmark Event Staffing Services, led by President Pete Kranske, completed our second year as the security consultant to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four with a successful operation in Houston. Landmark’s team of consultants provided oversight for the four team operations, the Big Dance and Bracket Town, and command post operations. Thanks to Greg Shaheen, NCAA Interim Executive Vice President of Championships and Alliances, and the rest of the NCAA staff for making Landmark a part of the NCAA team. April 1, 2011: Landmark Renews with Live Nation and First Niagara

Landmark Event Staffing Services is excited to announce that its Agreement with Live Nation to provide crowd management and security services for the 23,000 capacity First Niagara Pavilion in Burgettstown, PA has been extended. Landmark has provided exceptional services to Live Nation since 2007. Thanks to General Manager Mike Gentille and Senior VP Tom Mendenhall for their teamwork and support.
Jimmy Sacco and Rob Thompson of the Heinz Field and Don Renzulli of the NHL also worked tirelessly to make this an unforgettable Steel City memory.

Landmark Event Staffing Services is pleased to announce the successful completion of operations for 2011 Pro Bowl in Honolulu, HI and Super Bowl XLV in Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX. Landmark started the double header with our Pro Bowl transportation consulting operations in Honolulu. Under the aegis of Frank Supovitz and Maria Franklin of the NFL, Landmark’s team, led by Chris Hagerty and Mark Rausch, flawlessly executed the transportation and parking plans during game week and game day. Immediately following the Pro Bowl, Landmark’s Super Bowl security team went into action in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. Our Super Bowl team, led by Grant Haskell and Mark Kranske, as well as Sean Oates/Travis Garcia (AFC) and Mike Bruton/Scott Hadden (NFC), excelled in managing the security services for both team hotels, practice sites, parties and ancillary Super Bowl functions, and the Taste of the NFL. Thanks go out to Jim Sacco, Rob Thompson and Omar Khan of the Pittsburgh Steelers; Doug Collins and his staff with the Green Bay Packers; Max Kittel and Craig Warren with the Taste of the NFL; Milt Ahlerich, Bob hast and the entire NFL Security team; and the Ft. The 2011 NHL Winter Classic held at Heinz Field was a great success for all concerned. Landmark Event Staffing Services provided the crowd management and event staffing services for the game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitols and all ancillary events during the preceding week. Under the auspices of NHL Sr. VP of Events Don Renzulli, Landmark excelled in providing exceptional guest services to all aspects of the event, even without the cooperation of the weather, which caused the game to be moved to prime time. Landmark Event Staffing Services has been named the exclusive crowd management provider for the new Stage AE entertainment complex in Pittsburgh, PA. Located adjacent to Heinz Field, Stage AE is a state of the art indoor/outdoor concert venue, featuring a 5,500 capacity outdoor amphitheatre, 2,400 capacity indoor concert venue and a 400 capacity club venue. President Scott Stienecker anticipates the complex will host more than 150 events in the first year alone.

Landmark Event Staffing Services, Inc. is pleased to announce it has been awarded a multi-year Event Staffing services contract for the A.J. Palumbo Center at Duquesne University. Landmark will report directly to David DiPietro, Executive Director and Scott Richards, Assistant Director, of Duquesne’s Auxiliary Services and the A.J. Palumbo Center. Guest Services personnel will be providing exemplary service to Duquesne students and fans at NCAA Men’s and Women’s basketball, Volleyball, concerts and special events at the A.J. Palumbo Center.
Duquesne is the latest NCAA Division I school to be added to the Landmark roster. Landmark also brings its “Client-friendly, Fan-friendly, Employee-friendly” crowd management, guest services and security to such major universities as UC Berkeley, Stanford University, Colorado State University, the University of Wyoming and the University of Pittsburgh.
Landmark’s Pittsburgh office also serves such clients as the Pittsburgh Steelers, Heinz Field, the University of Pittsburgh, the Petersen Events Center, Live Nation and the First Niagara Pavilion.
Glen came to the Landmark’s Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office in early 2008 in a Supervisory capacity at the Post-Gazette Pavilion and subsequently at Heinz Field, where he had oversight of staff at all Press Box, Suite and VIP functions, including Pittsburgh Steelers and University of Pittsburgh football. He also had supervisory oversight of University of Pittsburgh events, including NCAA Division I basketball, at the Petersen Events Center. Glen also has acquired extensive experience handling dispatch for concerts and football games. He recently managed some of Landmark’s operations during the recent G-20 Summit in Pittsburgh, and worked with Landmark at the 2010 Super Bowl and Pro Bowl security operations in Miami, Florida.
Based in Laramie, Glen will have responsibility for Landmark’s operations at the University of Wyoming.
Landmark is pleased to announce we have been awarded an exclusive multi-year agreement to provide crowd management, security and event staffing services for the University of Wyoming. Landmark will be providing services for Cowboy athletic events and special events starting with the 2010 football and volleyball seasons. Landmark’s on-site operations will be handled by Wyoming Branch Manager Glen Freeman, with the oversight of longtime industry veteran Chris Hagerty.
Landmark is pleased to announce we have been retained to provide event staffing services for the Thunder Mountain Amphitheatre in Loveland, Colorado. Landmark will provide services for major concert acts throughout each season. Landmark’s operations will be overseen by our Colorado branch, with Travis Garcia leading the team.
A graduate of Slippery Rock University’s Sport Management program, Eric began as an intern for Landmark in Pittsburgh, PA at the Post-Gazette Pavilion. He initially had responsibilities for interviewing and recruiting employees, office operations, and assisted the Branch Manager in the initial training of employees. Eric also served as an Event Supervisor during concerts at the Post-Gazette Pavilion and operated as the point man for dispatch who responded to any incidents. He was the Event Manager for concerts at the Byham and Benedum Theaters. He also oversaw Landmark’s contracted security operations for the 2009 G-20 Economics Summit and was a key part of Landmark’s Super Bowl security operations in 2009 and 2010, and Pro Bowl operations in 2010.
Eric initially moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2007, where he was responsible for the preparation of Landmark’s services at the 2007 MLB All Star Game and was Landmark’s recruiting coordinator for the Raiders and Cal football seasons. Eric also travelled to Colorado to work the Colorado State football games and serve as the Event Manager for the CSU Basketball games. He was eventually named Director of Operations in the Northern California office and worked on a wide range of sports events, concerts, festivals and other special events, including Kenny Chesney at AT&T Park. He also had oversight of Landmark’s UCPD Special Events operations under Lt. Doug Wing, including the majority of the duration of the 21-month Oak Grove protest twenty-four hour coverage at Memorial Stadium.
Landmark is pleased to announce we have been awarded an exclusive multi-year agreement to provide event staffing services for the Ironstone Amphitheatre in Murphys, California. The historic Ironstone Vineyards is the location of this beautiful 6,000 capacity amphitheatre in the California Gold Country. Landmark will provide services for major concert acts throughout each season, including such acts as Faith Hill, ZZ Top, Crosby, Stills & Nash, BB King and others. Landmark’s operations will be overseen by our Northern California branch, with John Crabtree leading the on-site supervison team.
Landmark Event Staffing Services has named Sean Oates and Paul Meyer to the positions of Director of Operations in the Pittsburgh branch, where they will share client and field responsibilities in the Western Pennsylvania region.
Paul brings to Landmark an extensive background of event management experience. Prior to coming to Landmark, Paul worked in crowd management in Denver, where he served as the Event Manager for all Air Force Academy sports events in Colorado Springs and the Denver Broncos training camp, as well as an area director for the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. He also served in a managerial or supervisory capacity for Colorado State University athletics, the Denver Coliseum, Bandimere Speedway, Taste of Colorado, the Cherry Creek Art Festival and Invesco Field at Mile High.
Sean began his career in event staffing and crowd management in 1993 at Star Lake Amphitheatre in Pennsylvania after having worked with a variety of local and regional touring acts as personal security. Sean began as event staff and quickly moved up the ladder through supervisor, lead supervisor, staff manager, and assistant Head of Security. In this time Sean also assisted with security and staff management for select tours at amphitheatres in Ohio, New Jersey, North Carolina and West Palm Beach, Florida.
Sean’s concert experience in the past fifteen years encompasses every major touring artist to date, including The Who, Van Halen, Jimmy Buffett, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Green Day, Janet Jackson and multiple Ozzfests, Lillith Fairs, Lollapaloozas, and Warped Tours. Sean was also instrumental in the staffing and management of the live Farm Aid concert and broadcast from the Post-Gazette Pavilion. Sean is also active in Special Olympics in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, serving on its Board of Directors as Volunteer Coordinator and playing a prominent role in staging county events in all Olympic Sports for hundreds of mentally and physically challenged athletes at a variety of venues and stadiums.
Sean and Paul will oversee the operations for Landmark clients including the Pittsburgh Steelers, University of Pittsburgh, SMG Pittsburgh, Live Nation Pittsburgh, Heinz Field, the Petersen Events Center and First Niagara Pavilion.
Scott Hadden has been appointed to the position of manager of Landmark’s Northern California branch. Scott brings to the position an exceptional resume as am event security supervisor, manage and director, as well as extensive experience as a national and international rock tour security director.
Prior to coming to Landmark, Scott served such clients as the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the Denver Broncos, Six Flags/Elitch Gardens, the Coachella Music Festival, Vans Warped Tour, Summer Sanitarium Tour, and the Fray. He also provided services for Super Bowls XX and XLIV and the 2005 NBA All-Star Jam. At Landmark, Scott is responsible for such clients as UC Berkeley, the Oakland Raiders, the Oakland Coliseum and Oracle Arena/SMG, the San Francisco 49ers, Stanford University, AT&T Park, Ironstone Amphitheatre and Thunder Valley Amphitheatre. He has also been a key part of Landmark’s management team at Super Bowl XLIV,the 2010 Pro Bowl in Miami and the 2009 NFL Kickoff Weekend in Pittsburgh.
